1. Introduction

I want to write Japanese, but I do not have a Japanese computer.
I looked for some free Japanese writing software but after trying a few programs, I found they were all pretty bad!
They often crashed, did not give me the kanji I wanted and could not do even simple conjugations.
So, I decided to make my own program, free to use of course, and available through the Internet.
There is no need to download a program, then install it, then restart, ...
Everything is all ready to use, on any computer, anywhere in the world!

Type using standard (Hepburn) romaji, the English representation of Japanese words, select the word you want, and hit the enter key.

2. How to Use

	Mouse	Keyboard
Write Hiragana or Katakana	Type letters in the Romaji box and press the To Hiragana button or To Katakana button respectively.   watashi → → ワタシ	Typing lower case letters in the Romaji box produces hiragana characters. Uppercase letters produce Katakana characters.   watashi → わたし     WATASHI→ワタシ
Move the wheel	Hover the mouse cursor over the blue arrows to move the wheel up or down.	The up and down arrow keys will move the wheel accordingly. Also, pressing the spacebar will move the wheel up.
Enter the Japanese text	Any Japanese word in the wheel can be clicked to copy it to the Japanese Text box. Hovering over a Japanese word will show its English definition.	Pressing the Enter key will copy the Japanese word in the wheel's green box to the Japanese Text box.
Copy the Japanese text	Clicking the Copy All button will copy everything in the Japanese Text box to the system clipboard. This text can be pasted into other programs.
Small っ (tsu)	Keeping with standard romaji, the small tsu is written by repeating the next romaji consonant.   kitte → きって   gakkou →がっこう The small tsu can also be written using a preceding underscore _   _tsu →っ
んい and に	Use an apostrophe ' to distinguish between the possible hiragana conversions when a romaji "n" is followed by a vowel or "y".   shin'ichi →しんいち      shinichi →しにち   bon'yari → ぼんやり      bonyari →ぼにゃり
Katakana small characters	In Katakana, more sounds can be represented using a combination of 2 Katakana characters; one big one small e.g. ジェ. Some of these dual characters can only be made by using an underscore character _ between the romaji letters.   TE_I →ティ   FU_O → フォ

3. Fast Loading

	Click the Fast Loading box.
	Click the Allow button to confirm that you want to save the dictionary locally. (Although the request is for "Up to 10Mb," less than 2Mb is actually used.) If the save was unsuccessful, the Fast Loading box will not be ticked. This may be because of the Flash Playing Settings. You can check your settings here.
